5 Jul 1841 HMS PRESIDENT and ACTEON arrived.
11 Jul 1841 0900 Went to quarters and single shotted the spar deck guns -- exercised the 4th Division at the great guns -- 1530 sailed, DALE and SHARK in company.
12 Jul 1841 DALE parted company -- SHARK separated during the night.

2 Nov 1841 Towed to anchorage off Norfolk by steamer POINSETT.
6 Nov 1841 Moved to Navy Yard.
8 Nov 1841 Captain Turner left ship -- crew cheered him from the rigging.
10 Nov 1841 40 men found to have deserted during the previous night.
11 Nov 1841 19 more had deserted during the night.
