An Act to amend an act, entitled "An act for the better organization of the medical department of the navy," approved 24th of May, 1828

          Be it enacted in the Senate and House of Representatives of the Unites States of America in Congress assembled, That every surgeon, who as in the navy at the time of the passage of the act for the better organization of the medical department of the navy, approved twenty‑fourth May, one thousand eight hundred and twenty‑eight, shall be entitled to the additional pay and rations (according to the length of service) provided for by the foourth section of that act, notwithstanding such surgeons may not have been examined, or received their appointments in the manner prescribed by the first section thereof.
